Directory of Decisions -- This site aims to list the Courts, Tribunals, Statutory Authorities, and other such bodies in New Zealand which make legal or quasi-legal decisions and reports. It provides, or links to, brief information on their jurisdiction; governing legislation; administering bodies; contact details; the availability of reported (published) and unreported (unpublished) decisions; information on indexes to the decisions; and library holdings of decisions.
District Courts of New Zealand -- The District Courts in New Zealand are Courts of record possessing a civil and criminal jurisdiction. The District Court was created by the District Courts Act 1947 (formerly the Magistrate''s Courts Act 1947). Following a review of the Courts in 1979 the former Magistrates Courts were reconstituted as District Courts with substantially extended jurisdiction.
Employment Court -- Find out about employment rights, contracts, and law.
The Environment Court -- Constituted by the Resource Management Amendment Act 1996 and formerly known as the Planning Tribunal. It is a court of record consisting of Environment Judges (who are also District Court Judges) and Environment Commissioners. It is recognised as an expert specialist tribunal.
