Alternative Fuels -- Description of the efforts of the National Conference of State Legislatures to promote alternative fuels. Also provides links to useful fuel resources.
American Bioenergy Association -- An industry trade association dedicated to developing the entire breadth of the bioenergy industry – power, fuels, and bio-based chemicals.
American Coalition for Ethanol -- A non-profit membership association devoted to promoting the increased production and use of ethanol.
American Methanol Institute -- A non-profit educational and scientific organization dedicated to supporting the greater use of methanol as a clean energy resource.
Bio Diesel Resources and Instruction -- Learn what biodiesel is, why it''s necessary, and how to make it. Also find out where to buy it commercially.
BioEnergy Resources -- A resource for bioenergy, bioconversion, and bioprocess technology.
Biodiesel.org -- Biodiesel (mono alkyl esters) is a cleaner-burning diesel fuel made from natural, renewable sources such as vegetable oils. Because it is renewable and domestically produced, biodiesel fits well under the Energy Policy Act of 1992, which is in place to help ensure national energy security through replacing imported petroleum products with domestic alternative fuels.
Bioenergy Information Network -- Part of the U.S. Department of Energy''s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy outreach activities. The DOE-funded projects focus on the domestic production, recovery, and conversion of energy crops (fast growing trees and grasses) to economically priced, environmentally beneficial fuels and power generation.
Biomass and Bioenergy -- Elsevier Science Journal description
Biomasster -- activities in the Netherlands in the area of bioenergy (English or Dutch)
British BioGen -- Trade association to the UK Bioenergy Industry. Site includes bioenergy and biomass promotional information, also Bioenergy Good Practice Guidelines.
Canadian Renewable Fuels Association -- Ethanol fuels, ethanol from wastes, biodiesel, etc.
Citra Fuels Ltd., Kerala, India -- Implementor of biotechnological fuels, an eco-friendly substitute for petrol made from a mixture of hydrocarbons and pure chemicals. Site describes the business and the technology.
DOE''s Bioenergy Initiative -- Program to facilitate and support "bio-industry'' in the U.S. by increasing the production and utilization of energy from forest products, agricultural products, and wastes. In addition to program information, web site has definitions of bioenergy terms, fact sheets, and links to other resources on biomass, biofuels, etc.
European Energy Crops InterNetwork -- Nineteen well-known institutes, representing 14 EU countries, involved in research, development and implementation activities of energy crops. Every three months over 75 new contributions on the latest developments on the production, pre-treatment and utilization of energy crops are published.
FAO Forest Energy Forum -- Promoting sustainable wood energy systems globally. Site has information on fuels derived from forest products and issues associated with forest energy.
General Biomass Company -- Develops and commercializes biomass technologies, with emphasis on fuel ethanol from biomass. Site has links to other energy websites.
Governor''s Ethanol Coalition -- Goal to increase the use of ethanol based fuels, to decrease the America''s dependence on imported energy resources, improve the environment and stimulate the national economy.
Handbook of Energy Crops -- Detailed descriptions of about 200 plant species that can be used to produce energy.
IEA Bioenergy -- An international collaborative agreement set up in 1978 by the International Energy Agency (IEA) to improve international cooperation and information exchange between national bioenergy RD&D programmes. IEA Bioenergy aims to realise the use of environmentally sound and cost-competitive bioenergy on a sustainable basis to provide a substantial contribution to meeting future energy demands.
Landfill Methane Outreach Program -- Contains a complete description of the U.S. EPA''s Landfill Methane Outreach Program (LMOP), including a list of program members, extensive data on landfills in the U.S., a collection of LMOP products, and case studies.
National Biodiesel Board -- A not-for-profit corporation dedicated to the commercialization and industrialization of biodiesel. Biodiesel is the name for a variety of ester-based oxygenated fuels from renewable biological sources. It can be used in compression-ignition (diesel) engines without any modifications. Pure biodiesel is biodegradable, nontoxic and essentially free of sulfur and aromatics.
Nebraska Ethanol Board -- Organization was formed by the state of Nebraska to promote the production of ethanol and gasohol.
New Uses Council -- Nonprofit membership organization run by volunteers dedicated to expanding the development and commercialization of new industrial, energy, and non-food consumer uses of renewable agricultural, forestry, livestock and marine products.
